WHAT ARE CRYSTALS? A HISTORIC VIEW.
Crystals have been used by man since Prehistoric times; we have always found them a thing of beauty, power and mystery.
We feel, as with herbs, that they hold energies which can be used for a great many things.
They contain the energy needed to change our lives and heal ourselves.
Crystal magic is as old as time, it began when the first person sensed something hidden a power or force resonating deep within the stone.
These were used to protect the bearer from evil spirits and from harm in battle, as well as healing, seer ship and their value in trade. As mankind started to revere nature, crystals were offered in sacrifice, buried as gifts to the land to bring renewed fertility.
For generations the usage of crystals was forgotten or hidden and they were just used as ornamentation without any true knowledge of their potential.
With a new wave of awareness is sweeping the planet, we again are using all types of crystals in our daily lives.
History is full of accounts of crystals and their various usages.
In Atlantis, it is said that the energies of crystals was used in the same way we use electricity today.
The Egyptians left papyrus scrolls dating back to 1500 bce, which tells of gemstones and their curative powers. Even older formulas can be traced to the Sumerian culture that preceded the Babylonians.
Homer wrote Amber in his Odyssey and Paracelsus described the healing power of many different stones.
Many of the worlds great Oracles surrounded themselves with crystals in their temples. Ancient texts such as the Bible, the Quran and the Talmud all have many passages about jewels.
The very church which destroyed much ancient wisdom is known to have developed a ritual to cleanse gemstones of their sins {purifying them} as early as the 12th century.
The crystal skulls are said to be the repository of ancient knowledge, made between 20,000 and 50,000 years ago, they seen to act as memory storage just like in a modern day computer.
The interesting thing is how were they made? At this time with just primitive tools these near perfect copies were made.
Crystals have been around a lot longer than humankind has and almost every native culture in the world has knowledge of the powers of Gems, Crystals and the connected Earth Energies, Priests and Shamans all over the world still practiced divination and healing with them, as they did thousands of years ago.
In our line of work crystals have many functions especially in healing and spirit rescue.
I am not going to go into all their uses here but over time I will endeavour to create a list of crystals and their properties but as with much we do, it is what you feel they can do, not what you are told they can do, that matters
